What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a mental state that can be achieved by focusing on the present moment, whilst calming and acknowledging your feelings, thoughts and sensations. Mindfulness can be achieved in a number of ways to focus the mind and relax, with meditation being the top choice. Renowned for its calming effects and the ability to shut everything out, cross stitching has and is continuing to grow in popularity to achieve mindfulness, and to relax and escape the stresses of daily life. Mindfulness is described as a mental state achieved by focusing on one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, thereby used as a therapeutic technique.
Why on a Coaster?
Usually, after completing a complicated colouring artwork, we don’t use it for other purpose rather than displaying it. That’s why colouring on the coaster which you can use it daily can be purposeful. You may also create it as a gift for your friends and love ones.
With mindfulness the buzz word of the moment, colouring in is an easy way to calm the mind and occupy the hands. Active meditation focuses attention on simple tasks that require repetitive motion. Concentrating this way replaces negative thoughts and creates a state of peace, and many people who have a difficult time with concentrative meditation can find this easier. This gentle activity where you choose the colours to create your picture and the repetitive action of colouring it in focuses the brain on the present, blocking out any intrusive thoughts.
